Flat Cabbage

Flat cabbage is a variety of cabbage that is made up mainly of water, meaning that it is low in calories. It is highly nutritious due to containing high levels of minerals and vitamins (A and C).

Apart from water, it mostly consists of carbohydrates and fibre.

It can be eaten raw and has a surprisingly crunchy texture and extra-sweet taste compared to other varieties of cabbage. Cook it if you want a softer texture.

Other interesting notes

It is best eaten raw to get the full benefit of the water-soluble vitamins and minerals. Why not make sauerkraut with this cabbage and add some personality to your plate!
